BIGGS Celebrates 42nd Anniversary!

A homegrown brand that started in Naga City and became synonymous with Bicol, Biggs celebrated its 42nd anniversary on January 16, 2025, with much pomp and grandeur. The event, themed “Let’s Go Boho,” was held at The Tent, Avenue Plaza Hotel, and witnessed a massive turnout of over 1,000 employees (both co-owned and franchise) and more than 100 business partners.

Mr. Emil Allan Capili, the Chief Operating Officer of Biggs, took center stage to present the company’s ambitious targets for 2025. He outlined the phased expansion strategy that aims to solidify Biggs’ presence in various regions:

Phase 1 – King of Bicol
● Biggs Metro Gaisano, Naga City
● Biggs Concepcion, Naga City
● Biggs Ligao
● Biggs Tabaco

Phase 2 – King of Maharlika
• Biggs Pagbilao, Quezon

Phase 3 – King of South Luzon
• By 2035, expanding to 120 stores

The celebration also honored several dedicated employees for their unwavering loyalty and exceptional service to the company:

● Two (2) awardees with 30 years of service
● Three (3) awardees with 25 years of service
● Three (3) awardees with 15 years of service

The event was further enlivened by various dance performances, showcasing the talents of the employees, including Deaf team members. Since 1990, Biggs has proudly hired Deaf employees with 30 individuals currently part of the team. Even the CEO/President, Mr. Carlo Buenaflor, participated in the festivities and shared the ultimate goal of Biggs – to become a Billion Peso company.

Indeed, Biggs has transformed into an iconic brand, not just in Naga City but across the entire Bicol region, with twenty-three branches in Bicol and one in Lipa, Batangas. With its current aggressive expansion strategy, Biggs is poised for even greater success in the coming years.
