Significance

Founded in 1947 by Dr. Melchor T. Villanueva, Naga College Foundation (NCF) emerged to address the urgent need for quality, affordable education in Bicol after World War II. Initially named Naga Teachers College, it opened with 114 enrollees in a rented house on Peñafrancia Avenue, offering a two-year Education course to address the teacher shortage.

In 1951, the institution expanded to include elementary and high school education and was renamed Naga College. By 1985, it became a non-profit organization known as Naga College Foundation. Today, NCF continues its mission to provide top-notch education and foster community growth in the Bicol Region.
