The Traslación, a major highlight of the festivities, marks the start of the Novenary and officially signals the start of activities in honor of Ina. The image of the Nuestra Señora de Peñafrancia, which has previously been moved from the Basilica, is transferred via foot procession from the Old Peñafrancia Shrine to the Metropolitan Cathedral for nine days of prayer.
