About the Camino

Taking inspiration from the Camino de Santiago, the Camino de Penafrancia is a spiritual journey that allows you time to reflect and possibly experience personal transformation as you discover your path to God through INA, Our Lady of Penafrancia.

This meaningful pilgrimage brings together people from different parts of the world in the spirit of sacrifice and prayers offered for personal intentions and for the greater good, with a commitment to help address social issues in whatever way they can wherever they may be. The Camino de Penafrancia route also offers a cultural journey that allows you to find the hidden gems of the Pilgrim City of Naga and parts of the Province of Camarines Sur around Mt.Isarog.

It places Mt. Isarog at the center of the pilgrimage to give you time to commune with nature and remind you of your responsibility to protect God’s gifts to humankind. The beauty of nature has a profound way of helping you understand His power, wisdom, glory, and unparalleled love.

A Pilgrims’ Mass and Fellowship in Ocampo is held the evening before the first day of the 5-day walking pilgrimage that will cover a little more than 100 kilometers, go through 11 towns and one city, and visit at least 24 churches. (Click here for the updated route)

A pilgrim gets a stamp on his passport upon reaching every destination until he completes the journey with a blessed memorabilia certificate from the Archdiocese of Caceres duly signed by the Archbishop.

Pilgrims reach their final stop-the Our Lady of Penafrancia Shrine in Naga City, after traversing over 100 km visiting various parishes and churches. Photo taken during the 2023 edition of the Camino.
